The Bartleby Estate

So Spider wanted to see a bit more of the estate that I am using to house the lovely Aisling and her growing brood coming and going all the time! And I kind of haven't been making a chapter lately since I have been having issues trying to save sims and then having to CTRL + ALT + DEL to close out sims since it never completes. Sooo I snapped a bunch of these and thought I would share for Spider, and whoever else might be interested in my made up background of Bartleby Estate!

Fictional Background:

The estate was given to her from her grandparents on her mother's side. Linus Bartleby and his wife Lucy (née Spook) had raised Aisling's mother and her sister, Doryan and Darla until Doryan had actually moved out once she was courted by Mr. Barnabus Burton who took her away and thus had Aisling! But they died in a horrifying accident or so it was said in the Sunset Valley Times. Barnabus had come from money himself, his parents, Linus (AS WELL!;)) Burton I and Ainsley (née Skule) Burton were a very old family from Bridgeport who may even have some family left over that Aisling doesn't know about or was ever told about. When her parents had past on she was left in the care of her aunt and uncle, Darla (née Bartleby) and Sir Donald Lonelyt. But they were cruel and didn't want children since they wanted Darla's parent's money to themselves but the only way they would receive it was to take in Aisling. Doryan had been a favorite of her parents and so begrudgingly Darla agreed just so she could have the money. They never told Aisling about her mother, or her father or the family for all she knew she was an adopted child who made them look like caring, giving parents. But in fact they sent her to boarding school after boarding school until she graduated and went to Sim University (no defined degree :P). By the time she was done Donald had past on and Darla was all that was left... for at least a little while, until she fell ill and died as well. Thus it pushed on the beginning of our story of where Aisling received the letter. Now she is fulfilling her mother's lost hopes, and wishes for her to have endless lullabies, to give her the grandchildren she will never see, 100s of them if possible! (:P)

Factual Background:

I looked on my downloads and the title of the lot is "the fairy tale ending" which I searched on Mod the Sims, as well as The Sims Resource to no avail whatsoever as to the original maker/creator or download. If anyone is interested in it really I can upload it though I have made a handful of changes which I will explain in some of the pictures. I much appreciate whoever originally created this lot because it's been just right for this challenge a bit slow on loading buuuut overall it's fit everything I need or could possibly need to entertain the family with. :) So please I hope you all enjoy and I am sorry I don't have a new chapter out yet, but soon as I stop trying to break my game the sooner I can get more out! :D NOTE: Click on the pictures and you will be able to see a bigger picture of that one or of that general area!

The tour will begin in the... well front yard! :D

Welcome to Bartleby Estate...

Of course I still have the awesome decorations up for this month, and I am a Halloween lover sooo why not! ;)

A lot of the decorations I got free for from the store for the holiday (Halloween & Thanksgiving), some I picked up at other places I believe. Just searching here and there.

Next we will step inside and this is the grand entrance I suppose, I enjoyed putting a few decorations in here but not all over the house (yet)! LOL

When you look to the left you'll see a small sitting nook and a doorway to what used to be the indoor pool. I replaced it with a hot tub since the lot didn't have one and I really was jealous of all the other hot tub daddy scenes everyone has... at least have one I suppose! LOL

My redecorated "indoor pool" turned hot tub sex pit LOL!

To the right from the entrance you will see another small sitting area, a small den or living room of sorts. The paintings were replaced with the ones currently on the wall as were the furniture and rug was recolored.

And ignoring the stairs on either side we'll go straight for the door towards the back and the hallway there. I have put up a few decorations for the season here as well. These french doors lead to the back where there are a few sitting areas that I will show you in a moment.

Further down this hallway we make our way to the kitchen, dining and small family/tv area overall a very friendly play where everyone can relax!

The first thing you'd notice was the couches to the right and a large bookshelf with built-in for books and storage and the TV of course.

Right next to that is the dining table where a lot of messes are made and homework is done! And the door in this area leads out to the garage which I will get to in just a moment as well!

And I know you might have seen this kitchen a million times since the birthdays are usually done right on these counter tops but hey might as well share! I redid the cabinets and counter tops and changed out a lot of things and added little details here and there that make it a nice place to take pictures at, at least in my mind LOL!

Through the doors in the kitchen you will then be on the outdoor eating area that most of the kids tend to go towards once they have gotten their meals all prepared and ready to eat!

Going back inside and to that door that leads to the garage you'll find a few things in it, the Chem set, the Inventors bench, the Bubble table, and a couple of cars and the newest addition to the household, the Foosball table!

So back outside, this is the rear view of the house.

Aisling's sanctuary, where she either tries to finish her paintings but ends up either vomiting, going into labor and passing out on the loveseats from exhaustion!

There is a lot of seating out here which is okay not all of it is used, these seats haven't been touched yet and a few of the pool lounge chairs have kind of had some nap love!

Out front I designated the left side (facing the house) as the kid's playing area, there is a hopscotch by the garages but mainly the kids play over here, obsess about the sandbox, enjoy the springers or have fun in the tree house!

So back inside we'll head upstairs, first to the right wing designated the boys' wing or baby wing. :)

Linus loved the sailboat bed :( wish he was around sometimes!! But since he left Huey had taken it over and then a few of the other kids have traded, switched and used the bed themselves.

In this photo you can see down into the kitchen, whoever did build the house kind of put this window in the wrong place LOL. This used to be a smaller bedroom btw until I made it larger and redecorated for a unisex kind of room though I originally wanted just the boys over here since Aisling kept having all boys LOL!

When you take a right up the stairs you can head down a small hallway, or a nook looking area where there is a doorway to a sizable bathroom I think I Aisling has thrown up in it quite a few times. :) But there is also the doorway to the baby's room or nursery! And I know we've all seen it way too much but I admire it a lot and well if you wanna check it out here it is!

If you click on it like all the others there is a bigger version of that picture and if you follow these links you'll get more pictures of the nursery!

On the opposite side of the house on Aisling's wing you'll find this little book/reading nook meeting you at the top of the staircase. The furniture here is original to the house and you can find it in these little nooks or outside because all those furnishings are original as well other than the rooms that have been redone.

The first door is to your right and it's Aisling's awkwardly small room where she's gotten plenty of booty and action from a handful of daddies past and possibly future!

After her room you will see a stairway up to the third floor but past that is the doorway to the girls' room. Originally it was a small gym with a handful of gym equipment but I remodeled as soon as Aisling finally had a girl! >:)

Heading upstairs to the final (usable) room you'll find it to be more like an everything kind of romper room for the arts. The computer, that many a child who just turned into a YA has used to move out, will be the first thing you'll see other than an old display case that was original to the this upstairs.

Originally it had a lot of display cases and I got rid of them and added flooring but kept just a little open so you may see down to the second and first floors. :D

Lastly here is the aerial pictures of the layout of each floor. Starting with roof up.

Third floor.

Second floor.

First floor.

Soooo I just hope that was kind of pleasant. I really wish I could have shared the original link for you guys, maybe someday I can find it unles it was taken off. Oh well! :) And sorry some of the pictures have the sky in them or are all choppy ceiling, it's only because I couldn't get at some good angles even in tabbed mode or untabbed mode. And I tried having Aisling get all the booby traps since I wasn't sure if there was another way to just get rid of them unless I got the mod that made it so they weren't detectable. The only things I changed were a few of the wall colors, the third floor completely, added or deleted some furniture like in the kitchen and all the rooms though Aisling's is basically untouched but recolored completely. :P Not sure about anything else but this is the house I am using for Aisling's babymaking, raising and whatnot! ;)
